Just a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe and steps from the shopping mecca known as the Champs-Élysées, you will find Stella Maris. This restaurant combines the best of old and new France.
When you enter Stella Maris you will immediately realize this is not your usual Parisian restaurant. The brightly colored art deco design lends itself to thoughts of casual fare, but that is certainly not the case. This is a restaurant with accolades that have reached across the globe and include a Michelin star and recognition from France’s Gault Millau and Bottin Gourmond.
Stella Maris Restaurant owes its reputation to Tateru Yoshimo, a student of famed chef Joel Robuchon. Chef Yoshimo brings a wide variety of food alive here. He is a master at turning French cooking into art that looks as good as it tastes. He also manages to put in a bit of his Japanese heritage by incorporating dishes such as Eel Blanquette with Grilled Cucumber into the mix.
When you go to Stella Maris, prepare to be impressed by both presentation and taste. One visit found Foie Gras and Ham en Crust, followed by a tender portion of Beef Cheeks in a burgundy sauce as a main course. Dessert was a most unusual (but delicious) Crème Brulee topped by squares and spaghetti strands made out of meringue!
Tasting menus are available at Stella Maris, which is open for lunch and dinner. The dishes at Stella Maris change four times a year, but you are assured a dining experience not to be forgotten whenever you go.
