Inspirato has been continually introducing new properties to its members. One of the latest is in Santa Rosa, California, in the heart of California Wine Country. I had the opportunity to spend a weekend in this house, and it is quite spectacular.
When I arrived at the Mayacama gate, the security officer had my name and welcomed me to the property. I was impressed with the landscape, as there is enough open space between houses for a deer to peek through the trees. I drove up the hill and was immediately impressed by the sight of this property. It reminded me of an Italian Villa – spectacular, but not ostentatious.
The house is beautifully decorated with a bit of comfortable elegance. After you leave the entry way, you pass a large dining room to the left and enter the huge living room. The open space of the living room is filled with chairs, couches and tables, yet certainly doesn’t look crowded. The kitchen is state of the art, with highlights such as a double oven, twin dishwashers, a warming tray and a faucet over the stove so you don’t have to carry a pot of water from the sink.
All of the bedrooms in the Inspirato Sonoma property are large, well-equipped and have their own walk-in closets and bathrooms, but the master suite where I stayed is just spectacular. A large fireplace greets you when you walk into the room, which has a king bed, large desk and plenty of sitting space. On the other side of the entrance is a bathroom that includes two sinks with vanities, a Jacuzzi and a shower that turns into a steam room!
My experience in the Mayacama house was with the family. There were six of us, and the place was so big everyone had a spot if they wanted to be alone. I couldn’t help wondering, though, what it would be like for a romantic getaway. True, the place is huge (3,600 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms), but I could certainly see myself in the hot tub on that deck, with the fireplace glowing as much as the moon, with a glass of champagne in my hand, and a special someone in the other.
I had no doubt that Inspirato’s wine country has is a gem, even before I discovered what the community and area had to offer guests staying there.
